Old Buddhist statues
A 15 minutes drive from the intersection of Minotani, Arima Road leads you to " Mudoji Temple". In the not-so-big main hall, you'll meet several sacred Buddhist statues, carved from wood in the 11th century. You'll be overwhelmed by the special atmosphere and feel mercy in the temple. A Ceremony called "Okonai" is held on February 4th. Swatting a oak twig on the floor until its tip is split, people place a lucky charm on the oak twig, and then place it on the rice field and pray for good harvests.
